This sensor is a carrier/breakout board for ST’s VL53L3CX laser-ranging sensor, which offers fast and accurate ranging up to 5 m. It uses the time of flight (ToF) of invisible, eye-safe laser pulses to measure absolute distances to multiple targets simultaneously, independent of ambient lighting conditions and target characteristics like color, shape, and texture (though these things will affect the maximum range). Distance measurements can be read through a digital I²C interface. The board includes a 2.8 V linear regulator and level-shifters that allow it to work over an input voltage range of 2.6 V to 5.5 V, and the 0.1″ pin spacing makes it easy to use with standard solderless breadboards and 0.1″ perfboards. Note: This is not recommended for use with 8-bit MCUs; for such applications, consider the VL53L1X or VL53L0X carrier.

This board is a 3-channel time-of-flight proximity and distance sensor module based on the OPT3101 IC from Texas Instruments. It emits infrared light in one of three selectable directions with its six integrated LEDs and measures distance by measuring the time delay of the reflected signal. Distance measurements can be read through a digital I²C interface. The combined field of view of the three sensing zones is almost 180 degrees, and the maximum range is about one meter. This module does not include any headers; we carry an alternate version with headers soldered.

The VClamp allows RoboClaw and MCP motor controllers to be used with switching power supplies by dissipating excess regenerative energy through a connected external resistor (not included). The VClamp connects directly to the motor power supply and gets logic power and signals from the RoboClaw or MCP controller. The clamping voltage is set in the Basicmicro Motion Studio software, and the board can handle peak voltages and currents up to 60 V and 60 A. A status LED lets you know when the voltage is being clamped.
