New products: Hakko tools

Most electronics projects (and many Pololu products) require soldering. That’s why we’re excited to offer a soldering station and other accessories that we can wholeheartedly recommend! We are now carrying Hakko soldering and desoldering tools and Hakko hand tools (cutters and pliers). We use Hakko tools in our own manufacturing, and we believe they offer a great mix of reliability, performance, and price.

Here is a look at some of the items:

Hakko FX-888D Digital Soldering Station.

The Hakko FX-888D soldering station is a 65 W compact soldering station that features a ceramic heating element, integrated digital display, and adjustable temperature output from 120 °F to 899 °F (50 °C to 480 °C).

We also have a selection of tips compatible with the FX-888D:

• T18-D12 Soldering Tip (1.2 mm width by 14.5 mm length chisel tip)
• T18-D16 Soldering Tip (1.6 mm width by 14.5 mm length chisel tip)
• T18-D24 Soldering Tip (2.4 mm width by 14.5 mm length chisel tip)
• T18-D32 Soldering Tip (3.2 mm width by 14.5 mm length chisel tip)

Hakko FR-300 Desoldering Tool.

Desoldering has long been difficult and something many of us avoid, so we were pleasantly surprised by how easy desoldering can be with the Hakko FR-300 Desoldering Tool. You should still uphold the soldering equivalent of “measure twice, cut once”, but it’s great to have a tool like this for those times you mess up.

Hakko FX-901 Cordless Soldering Iron.

The FX-901 Cordless Soldering Iron from Hakko is a portable, battery-operated soldering iron that makes it easy to solder on-the-go.
