The mounting holes on the board are 0.85" from edges they are closest to. We do not have a dimension drawing for this board yet, but the DXF file has all the hole locations on the board.
I am sorry you are having a problem with your motor driver shield. This is not an appropriate place for troubleshooting, but if you post about the issue on our forum with more details, like which driver you have, we would be glad to help.
The shaft is supported by a bushing (sleeve bearing). We do not have any specific radial load ratings for these, and in general, more radial load will lead to shorter life. We do not recommend more than a few pounds of radial load on the output shaft.
Thanks for the suggestion. We have a few laser-cut plates that would probably work with the Rasberry Pi, but nothing in that exact size. We'll keep your suggestion in mind! For now, you could check out our custom laser cutting service.
StepStick is a brand of stepper motor driver carrier that we do not make or carry. The AMIS-30543 stepper motor driver uses different signal inputs than the A4988 and DRV8825 and will probably not be compatible with shields designed for those stepper motor drivers.
The detection range on these sensors cannot be set; they are manufactured for specific detection ranges. If you want a shorter range, you might consider the GP2Y0D810 or GP2Y0D805 sensors. If you want a different detection range or want to be able to adjust the range, you might consider using one of the Sharp analog sensors with a comparator.
