5.2. Wiring Diagram

The typical way to connect the Pololu RC Switch with Isolated Solid State Relay is shown in the diagram below:

The switch is symmetrical and bidirectional, so it can be connected on the high side or low side and used with AC or DC supplies.

For inductive loads powered from a DC supply, a flyback diode (also called a freewheeling diode) can be connected across the load as shown below to reduce inductive voltage spikes when the switch turns off.
