New product: Aluminum mounting bracket for NEMA 17 stepper motors

Our new stepper motor bracket is designed to work with typical NEMA 17-size stepper motors like our 42×48mm and 42×38mm units (including our 42×38mm stepper motor with 28cm lead screw). It is made from 3mm-thick black anodized aluminum, which makes it both light and strong, and slot cutouts allow for plenty of mounting flexibility.

Fantastic alternative to NEMA 17 brackets from other sources. Cost less than half and has very flexible mounting options. Spacing compatible with 8020 and other framing systems. Very strong and lighter weight.
Hello, Lewis.

Thank you for the kind words. We designed the brackets to be compatible with the smaller extruded aluminum systems from 80/20 because we have seen several of our customers use them in their projects.

We enjoy hearing customer feedback and how our customers are using our products; it helps us make design consideration for future products. Feel free to share your project on our forum in the "Share Your Projects" section.

These are beautiful. Not just well designed but aesthetically satisfying. Can't ask for more. A photo does not do it justice. Until you have these in your hand and really see the quality. I chose these after looking at many other designs and I am glad I did.
Hello.

Thank you for the kind words! I am glad you are happy with the design of the brackets.

Any chance you could make these with more than one hole and one notch in the axis of rotation direction? E.g. to allow easier mounting with the motor shaft in the same direction as the extrusion?
Hello, Andrew.

Thanks for the feedback. The tooling and process for manufacturing these makes making changes time consuming and expensive, and we are unlikely to be updating this product in the near future without a specific big application. If you do have an immediate high volume application, please contact us directly with more information about your project. Otherwise, we will keep your request in mind for future versions and any similar new products.

Which specific 8020 series are the brackets designed to fit in? Most profiles I'm looking at use M5 fasteners which are too big for the holes in this bracket. Thanks!
Hello, Yufeng W.

The mounting holes on the bracket will accommodate M4 or #8 screw size, so you should be able to use it with 80/20 series parts that use those size screws. Personally, I have used the bracket with 20 series (20mm x 20mm) which has M4 T-nuts.
